While the launch of Leviathan went far more smoothly than I think most people were anticipating, it still sold out around the world before the close of business on Friday. With a two week preorder window assigned to such a massive launch, GW is left finding ways to keep hype up until the remaining copies are available in stores on the 24th. Free Indexes are great, but obviously they think they need more.
Sunday Preview - Things to Do While Waiting for Warhammer 40,000: Leviathan
The article is mainly focused on referencing WarCom releases, such as the Faction Focuses and the upcoming Indexes. It looks like we'll be getting the points soon too! There is also news that Warhammer+ will have more battle reports. We'll be getting a Combat Patrol game between Dark Angels and Orks first. Of these I'm most excited to have the point costs so we can finally start viewing these Datasheets in a more complete light.
General's Handbook 2023-24: Warhammer Age of Sigmar Prepares for a New Season in Frozen Andtor
While I'm not currently playing AoS, I have been collecting some Daughters of Khaine to eventually have an army to play with. Overtime, I've grown much warmer towards GWs reincarnation of Fantasy. This is driven in no small part by just how fantastic the miniatures are. I'm particularly in love with the new Seraphon releases highlighted by the article.
I'm also a fan of Vince Venturella and Goonhammer, so while not as plugged into competitive AoS as I am 40k by any means, I do pick up the occasional Warhammer Weekly and competitive article. So I knew it was time for a new Season of competitive AoS.
Last season was focused on trying to take the smaller, independent heroes in the game and make them more useful and exciting. But that was mostly just your support heroes and smaller melee heroes. Now it looks like they want you to bring out your independent wizards and shamans to play. The new rule for this season will allow you to have those wizards cast and unbind additional spells. And if you're not interested in playing with the Winds of Magic, you just select any Hero to gain a CP and issue a command with it.
You'll also get access to some new spells, enhancements, and Regiments of renown. But I'm not anywhere near experienced enough to suggest if any of these are actually good.
Celebrate 50,000 Instagram Followers with the Tyranid Deathleaper
Last, but certainly not least, we're getting a new Deathleaper!
I'm a bit mixed on this one. On the one hand, this miniature is just oozing with menace and filled with interesting little details. On the other, I'm really getting Mind Flayer vibes from it. The fact that its tail is forming what looks like the back of a cloak is kinda weird to me. On the whole, I'm not a fan of anything that makes Tyranids look more like something recognizable. Everything else is awesome though!
They're doing a giveaway too. Just follow the Warhammer Instagram account and comment on the reveal to get a chance to win the new model.
